Watch: AC Milan loanee Daniel Maldini scores against Inter for Spezia

By Oliver Fisher -

Daniel Maldini’s only league goal of the season so far came against AC Milan at San Siro, but he might just have redeemed himself in the eyes of his father Paolo.

Spezia made their debut under new coach Leonardo Semplici in last week’s draw with Hellas Verona and Maldini got the nod to come on at half-time tonight against the Nerazzurri, receiving a feed from M’Bala Nzola after some great work and firing into the bottom corner with the finish of an experienced centre-forward.

  1. Lol saw the match. Glad for the goal and the W but he looked like another CDK out there on field but a little better awareness. He wasn’t defending at all which is sad because he can actually tackle. So coach took him off…. subbing the sub is never good if you’re the sub.

That being said hope he gets more game time with Semplici. He’s only started 1 game and barely gets any minutes as a sub. One could say he was better off staying in Milan with those minutes

  2. He didn’t start.
He came on for Shomurodov at half time.
Then came off for an extra defender in the final minutes to protect a lead.

Agree he could have stayed at Milan for the number of opportunities Spezia have given him.
Hopefully he gets a good run in the final rounds.

  3. I’m am intreagued by the difference in quality between CDK and Maldini.

    I don’t know what it is but I suspect it’s not eu33m.

  4. It’s hard to take the emotion out of it because he is a Maldini but watch his game.

What he needed to do he did very well.

The penalty Spezia won was the result of 3 consecutive efforts. He scrambled to win them all.

A really natural in the position, too.

It’s a limited sample size but given that all I can really do is rank Serie A performances (Maldininl hasnt and wont play in Belgium) against each other, there is a minimal difference between Daniel and CDK.
