Top of the league! Great win for Milan, especially since Nkunku got off the mark in the league with two goals. Inter will be up against Atalanta tonight and they need a win to keep up with the Rossoneri, who are two points ahead currently.

Verona with a goal but the flag is up for offside. Looked to be the corrent decision.
On: Odogu.
Off: Tomori.
The game has really calmed down, as expected. Milan are running down the clock basically.
On: Ricci, Athekame.
Off: Pulisic, Saelemaekers.
On: Jashari, Fofana.
Off: Modric, Loftus-Cheek.
What a chance for Loftus-Cheek! Nkunku does brilliantly to put him 1v1 with the keeper, but the Englishman tries to shoot instead of squaring it to Pulisic. Wrong decision.
Montipo is forced to a good save on De Winter’s header.
Modric with a lovely strike on the edge of the box, hitting the inside of the post, and Nkunku is there to convert the rebound! What a start to the second half for the Frenchman.
Milan 3-0 Verona
He won the penalty and he converts it! Nkunku sends the goalkeeper the wrong way with a nice finish. Much-needed goal for him.
Milan 2-0 Verona
Nkunku brought down in the box and Fabbri points to the spot. At first glance it looked like a soft one, but the decision will probably stand.
The second half has begun at San Siro. Milan need to improve a little compared to the first half, despite getting a goal, and they must remain focused in defence.

Thanks to a great corner routine, Milan have the lead at half-time. It wasn’t a particularly brilliant first half, if we’re being honest, as the American’s shot was even the first on target. But, the lead is all that matters!
Modric with the corner, Rabiot with the flick and Pulisic with the decisive finish! Great goal for Milan right before the half-time break, and the American once again proves himself as the right man at the right place.
Milan 1-0 Verona
Two minutes added on.
Milan are not too happy with the referee at the moment, with a few decisions going against them. That said, their main problem is their own play.
Rabiot very nearly finds Nkunku in the box! Nice little cross from the midfielder but the striker didn’t make it in time for a tap-in.
Loftus-Cheek fires just wide! Seems it took a deflection, so a corner for Milan, but that was still very close.
Milan have seen most of the ball, but to be honest, it’s been a rather boring affair so far. Still no proper chance for the Rossoneri.
Great pass by Modric into the stride of Pulisic, who went on a good run there, but the first touch lets him down.
The game is underway at San Siro. After two games without a win, the Rossoneri really need to end 2025 on a high note. Not to mention that three points would put pressure on their city rivals Inter.

Nkunku has been caught flat footed twice now. Simply standing there. It’s like he cannot be bothered to make his teammates passes look better (and himself.
Further he is hiding from the ball. Watch his positioning. He is rarely in motion at the right time.
I expect better from the kids in Futuro and our academy. I do take exception to Origi 2.0 however. More like Origi 37.0.
Make me wrong Nkunku, I’ll send you a gift basket.
Hellas is beating us up. They are putting big licks on Pulisic and Modric is particular.

Nkunku, the player Allegro “doesn’t know what to do with”
Proper 5-4-1 now with those changes, put in a big target man in place of Nkunku and you have Allegri’s dream lineup
Two goals doesn’t exactly wipe away his previous performances does it ? He has looked uninterested in many matches and hasn’t run when he should have but I’ll look at this in a positive way as he hopefully will perform consistently onwards due to an improved confidence. Either way Nkunku is one of the most expensive players ever bought by Milan so the expectations and demands should be equally big and at the very least he should show good work ethics when fielded.

However the second goal was all hustle and anticipation. He was on his toes. The rest of the game he was more active. So as you say, take it as positive signs.

Considering his transfer fee + salary and sign on fees to him and his agent and if he ends staying until his contract ends he could very well cost the club in the vicinity of 80 mil combined. Clearly he has a lot more to show to pay that back, Do you think Milan is some sort of charity organisation or what ?
Either way I hope he can keep performing as it is in the clubs interest but he still has a long way to go to live up to his transfer fee and salary and two goals is nothing compared to the investment done.
Sure first goal everyone could have scored but the other one certainly was more to his credit.
I shouted at him on X for being fat, lazy and wasting his career since leaving Germany so I take all the credit for this!

Martin, you are only as good as your last performance. TODAY he was MOTM. Can you bring yourself to give him credit for being our match winner!
I already gave him credit further up if you read my comments so I definitely sees his performance as a great positive today and hope he can continue that way but don’t make it sound like the last couple of months is just magically washed away by a penalty goal and a tap in. We need to see more consistency and fighting will over many games but he definitely was one of our best players today either him or Pulisic are the motm.
