AC Milan 3-0 Lecce: Follow the game with SempreMilan’s live commentary

AC Milan are taking on Lecce at the San Siro this evening and following the win against Inter, the goal is to clinch yet another three points. With no changes to the starting XI, Paulo Fonseca is banking on the same recipe.

The mood has indeed been very positive at Milanello this week, having ended a six-game derby drought, and it was imperative after such a poor start to the season. However, the big question is whether the Rossoneri can ride the high and grab another win.

As said, there are no changes to the starting XI for this one despite the doubts about Alvaro Morata’s to-be or not-to-be. As always, you can follow the action from San Siro live below, courtesy of our live commentary on X.

    1. Not “lazy” – the boys are trying but they look tired. Maybe we should have had some rotation for fresher legs. These are all the same players who started against Inter.

  1. Theo again in his celebrating, pointing to Rafa as the architect of the assist. Z, bb, and flyingturtle in suicide watch. (By the way, no one can say that Rafa is not putting up a great effort tonight!)

    Wow, Puli 3-0!

We have the best offense in Serie A. We can compete for the Scudetto!

    1. I can say. Can’t pass, can’t defend, can’t shoot.

1 successful pass out of 10 does not make a difference to me, as 9 always go to waste.

Same with shooting, can’t put the ball anywhere aside from the center or the stands.

      The dude is blatantly limited.

  2. Oh good lord, Morata / Theo / Pulim what a breathtaking sequence, we broke the deadlock!!!

And BTW, he equaled a fantastic record set by Il Capitano: he’s now, alongside Maldini, our defender with the most goals scored in history – 29.

  3. Abraham very unlucky; hit the post. He deserves a score. I hope he gets one in second half. His effort is lovely; just missing a bit of finishing precision.

  4. Nice match, a bit stale 30 minutes but after the goal… the dam has been breached.

Now hopefully we get clean sheet, and put some kids in after 60 mins for some important experience.

  5. You put the captain’s armband on Leao and all of a sudden he starts tracking back and helping out. Brilliant assist to Theo as well. Maybe Fonseca knows what he is doing after all.

  6. I don’t know why Fonseca keeps saying we need to dominate more and hold on to the ball longer in our offensive half, but most of our goals and chances are coming from a direct quick transition pass. This current Milan is built for that kind of play.

And let’s hope Tammy score in 2nd half.

  7. Finally I see Leao give consistent effort. He’s captain tonight and he honors the captain’s armband, he finally act like a man not like a child. Theo very very good tonight, that’s the Theo I want. Supporters’ criticism should hold them accountable and make them raise their level of play…

  8. Fonseca seems to know how to manage Rafa, and if he can get Rafa to perform better defensively and to increase his work rate, that is huge.

We need to tip our hat to Fonseca. He has recovered the trust of his players and he is making them play as a team. We have several very good players but they were not playing as a team. Unity and joy are back. Bravo, Paulo!

    1. I think he always Knew what he was doing, pre season showed that, but management is multi faceted and it was whether or not he was a strong enough character to implement those ideas and man manage big egos. Still bigger tests to come but so far so good……

  9. ‘Today Campello (Morata’s partner) posted an Instagram Stories image of her and the children in a plane with the messages: ‘Milano, 27.09.2024, new starts.’

Ohh so that’s why he really wanted to play today. Good for him and what else better than a goal.

  10. Luigi all over this tread. Dude is like literally glued to the phone..
I bet we will see a couple 300 word essays soon from him. And some unprovoked shots like one already written..

Nobody is gonna bite your little bait tho. We’re tired of your aşs

    1. Speak for yourself. There is no “we.” Nobody here respects you.

There are a couple of other delusional and hateful posters who seem to agree with you (that’s telling in itself; look at the company you keep!) while nobody else takes you seriously.

      1. They’re the same. Go on and on and on and on. And love those 400 word comments.
2 lonely boy man looking for companionship online. For complete set I’ll nominate whining heir.

        1. Jesus. I’m married. My wife doesn’t like football, so I post here on my own when Milan is playing and I’m not at San Siro. Lonely boy man? LOL.

Who the hell takes you seriously, flyingturtle? Only Z and bb. LOL

  11. Exactly! I was so mad at Pioli all season long, for rotating massively 5-6-7 players, then getting behind in score, and then having to bring back the starters to try and catch up, while Inter kept starting the same 11 over and over, and subbing them out once the result was secure, like ALL good coaches do.

Fonseca obviously is not making the same mistake, and that’s great.

  12. Emerson got a yellow. The coach should yank him out, we don’t want a second yellow/red to put this game in jeopardy for being a man down. Let’s give Jimenez a chance to play right back.

  13. Great Morata. MOTM. It was correct to sub him out after he just very recently recovered from another injury; we need him against Leverkusen.

    —-

Rafa again threated to knock out a fan in San Siro’s upper ring. Sometimes his finishing is truly atrocious, LOL.

    —–

Musah and Chuk coming in; good subs for fresh legs and to rest the players for Leverkusen, but I wish yellow-carded Emerson was also subbed out.

    1. What the hell are you talking about? Can’t you see that Leão is trying hard tonight? Did you miss his huge sprint tracking back just a couple of minutes ago, trying to help the defense?

And his assist to Theo was nothing short of sublime. That was Rafa’s 4th goal participation this season, only second to Pulisic’s (but 1.75 fewer games played than Puli – didn’t play the first game and played just 25% of another game).

You Leão haters are just unbelievable. Whatever he does, you always find fault.

The team is playing well, Rafa is trying, got a great assist, and here comes someone else saying Rafa should be benched. Wow.

  14. Emerson remains the slowest member of the defensive department. He’s lost most 1v1 against Lecce’s left winger. He worries me. I’d love to see Jimenez tried there as RB.

Emerson just got beaten by their LW again.

Horrible cross by Emerson in the previous play.

The RB position remains our weakest point.

  15. This is the exact game we would have lost or drawn last season due to heavy rotation and lack of concentration. The most encouraging thing I’m seeing is communication between the players. Everyone is taking accountability for themselves and the vibes seem pretty good.

  16. Rafa had a great first half. Much worse in the second half.

Jesus. Bartesaghi has collect a direct red.

Let’s hope we don’t complicate this game in the last 10 minutes + stoppage time.

  17. Studs up into the opposing player with force. A red card everywhere always, it’s not the 1980s anymore.
This is why you don’t have children play against men.

  18. Decent. Lecce made it tough for the first 20 mins or so. Lots of opportunities to score more. Emerson and loftus had chances on the edge of the box. A little risky still with both emerson and theo up high but i guess we have the cbs deeper and fofana to support them. But still moments too many players upfront with risk of counters. Another clean sheet though. Nice. Never a red.

  19. It’s nice to have a clean sheet but we are still showing defensive fragility. The clean sheet was a bit lucky, especially in that post hit we suffered.

Our offense on the other hand is great and the most prolific in Serie A.

Otherwise, great win; don’t look now, guys, but we are temporarily top of the table! Big change from just a week ago.
