Sky: Milan’s probable XI to face Wolfsberger as Giroud trains away from the squad

AC Milan’s preseason preparations have seen them move to Austria and the next friendly on the schedule is tomorrow against Wolfsberger.

According to what Sky (via MilanNews) are reporting from Milan’s training camp in Austria, Stefano Pioli already has an idea about the team that he will put out against Wolfsberger, hoping for a better result than the 3-2 defeat to ZTE in Hungary.

Probable Milan XI: Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Krunic; Saelemaekers, Adli, Leao; Rebic.

Milan trained this morning in Villach and one of the notable absentees from the predicted line-up for tomorrow’s game is Olivier Giroud. Sky report that he did not train with the rest of the squad, but worked separately as scheduled.

It could well be a strategy to limit the workload that Giroud undergoes before the season begins given he already appears to be in good form (3 goals in 2 games) and is now 35 years of age.

  1. Hahaha workload. Sounds like he’s in injured. Now we have a total of zero strikers available and all 3 are injury prone

  2. Sign belotti now….then send off both giroud and ibra after this season, start another season with Origi and bellotti with a younger striker (lazetic or tommasso or …..

  3. Came back here for this after I saw the starting lineup vs Wolfsberger. He’s not even on the bench. My guess was and still is he had an injury of some sort and we’ll hear about it in the coming days
