AC Milan struggling to score; one goal from open play in four games

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan haven’t had the start they expected to the season, and after the tough derby loss against Inter, the pressure is on Giampaolo to turn things around. However, in the first four games, there haven’t been many positive signs to build on.

The Rossoneri have only managed to collect six points out of twelve possible from the first four games. That in itself is worrying for Giampaolo’s side, but it doesn’t end there: they have only scored one goal from open play in this season.

Furthermore, they have only scored a total of two goals. The only goal from open play came against Brescia, as Calhanoglu scored the winner, but since then the attack has been lacking.

In other words, there is a lot to think about for Giampaolo, who is in desperate need of improvement as two games will be played this upcoming week. Even though it’s early, the feeling is that Milan need all six points to bounce back.
