AC Milan’s Coppa Italia path for 2019-20 revealed

By SempreMilan -

AC Milan’s path in the 2019-20 edition of the Coppa Italia has been confirmed, with Torino set to be the first tough challenge.

There will be 78 teams who will compete to be crowned Coppa champions next year, with the first stage beginning on August 4.

The eight seeded teams are as follows: Napoli, Lazio, Atalanta, Inter, Milan, Torino, Roma and Juventus. All of the aforementioned will enter at the last-16 stage.

It is as of yet unknown, but Milan are likely to face the winner of SPAL vs. Lecce in their first game, providing they each get past their opponents (likely Pordenone or Salernitana).

After that, a quarter-final game against Torino would await should they get through their last-16 tie. The strongest team in their part of the bracket is Genoa, so the Rossoneri could also face them.

Roma and Juventus are also on Milan’s side of the bracket, so a semi-final clash against either of those two clubs is at this stage the most likely outcome.

Lazio are the defending champions as they beat Atalanta in last season’s final, having won at San Siro in the semi-final second leg against Milan to set up that meaning.
