The shareholders’ meeting at Casa Milan has just ended, with Elliott announcing the new directors that will replace the Chinese.

According to Milano Finanza, Elliott have called for the immediate exit of current Milan CEO, Marco Fassone, as well as the four Chinese members of the board.

The new board of directors will be as follows: Paolo Scaroni (also as president), Marco Patuano, Frank Tuil, Giorgio Furlani, Alfredo Craca, Salvatore Cerchione, Gianluca D’Avanzo and Stefano Cocirio until 2020. The proposal to appoint the new board was approved unanimously.

Regarding a new CEO, the final decision will be taken very soon, most likely on Monday. The most probable candidates are Roma’s Umberto Gandini and Arsenal’s Ivan Gazidis.

Paolo Scaroni took some time to say a few words after he was appointed the new president of the club: “I’m a Milanista, imagine what a great honour it is for me to become president of Milan.”

Now former Milan board member, Roberto Cappelli, also spoke about the situation, praising Elliott: “Elliott want to invest in Milan with fresh resources and willingness, guarantee that the club meets all the commitments and complies with UEFA rules.”
