Adli and Lautaro involved in expletive exchange during Milan derby – video

By Euan Burns -

The recent Derby della Madonnina became an incredibly bad-tempered affair and there was a sizable argument between AC Milan’s Yacine Adli and Inters Lautaro Martinez.

The latter stages of the 2-1 defeat at San Siro saw three players receive straight red cards. An altercation prompted by Rafael Leao and Davide Frattesi led to Denzel Dumfries and Theo Hernandez showing enough physical aggression that the referee sent them both off.

Soon after, Davide Calabria lost his cool and swung an arm at Frattesi in the box whilst Milan were preparing for a corner. These red cards have given Milan a problem for their next match against Juventus.

A special DAZN camera managed to capture some of the skirmishes and there was a particularly aggressive moment between Adli and Lautaro who both play with their hearts on their sleeves.

The incident was actually only nine minutes into the game, so it perhaps set the tone. After Nicolo Barella was fouled by Hernandez, Adli tried to make the Italian get up. That led multiple players to get involved, and then Lautaro could be seen shouting to Adli: β€œWho the f**k are you? What the f**k are you talking about?”

  1. I would be tempted to smack both Mkhitaryan and lautauro if i played against them and especially the other day. Barella showed some class the other day at their celebration but on field he is often also quite irritating in my view.

    1. Ha ha smack πŸ‘‹.
I don’t really have anything against Mikhitaryan and Lautaro, but Barella is very annoying, especially with his flopping and exaggerating fouls.
That being said, Adli was at fault here. There was a clear foul on Barella. And I really hate when opposing player stands over or grabs a player that is on the ground. Adli did that. No need for that during a game.
Milan players were way too tense in that game especially Adli. And I gotta give credit to Inter players keeping their cool, otherwise there would have been a lot more fisticuffs, yellow and red cards.

      1. Well i thought they were iritating throughout the match and seemed provocative towards some of our players from what i could judge but i wasnt really referring to this specific situation and yes our players wasnt saints either and fully deserved their red cards. Im also pretty sure if i wasnt a milan fan i would feel the same with some of our players if i played against milan as an opponent.
It could indeed have gone far worse but who doesnt like a good fistiuffs in football i at least kinda look fondly back on the old days with mass brawls πŸ˜€

      2. Clear foul? Minor touch and Barella started doing his “I’m a dying ballet dancer in agony”-act once again. Adli was right to intervene.
