Agent believes Okafor deserves Milan move: “One of the most interesting youngsters”

AC Milan are signing of of the most interesting players on the European scene, according to his agent, and he will be leaving for the United States tomorrow.

Fabrizio Romano reported yesterday among other sources that Milan will sign Okafor for €13-14m from Red Bull Salzburg and a long-term deal has been agreed with the player. He will sign a deal worth €2m net per season for four or five years, depending on which source you believe.

Okafor is represented by Sport 360 and is represented by agents Francesco Romano, Volker Struth, Sascha Breese. This morning he underwent medical examinations at La Madonnina’ and in the afternoon he will sign his deal.

MilanNews spoke to Francesco Romano – who is part of the Swiss international’s entourage – to talk about how the move to Milan came about.

Okafor had already been linked to Milan before, what happened in the last few days?

“It just so happens to be that Okafor is one of the most interesting youngsters on the European scene and therefore, we are here because he deserves such a stage. Milan believed in this thing. We are all very happy.”

Was it a quick deal?

“It was a negotiation like any other, we are used to various timings. I don’t want to add too many details, sorry (smiles).”

Is the metatarsal problem overcome? 

“Everything solved, he is in full shape.”

Tomorrow will he leave for the United States? 

“Yes.”
