Agent of Chelsea midfielder confirms imminent Milan move: “A done deal”

By Isak Möller -

Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be the first signing of the summer for AC Milan. An agreement has been reached between all parties and only the medical is missing to complete the move, as confirmed by the agent.

Milan and Chelsea have reached an agreement at €16m plus an additional €4m in bonuses, per Gazzetta Dello Sport, and the player is expected to sign a four-year deal. He will be their first reinforcement for the midfield after Sandro Tonali’s exit, therefore.

As relayed by the Egyptian outlet FilGoal, the transfer ‘is a done deal’ as per the player’s agent Jonathan Barnett. Loftus-Cheek could thus soon arrive in Milano and undergo the medical tests before signing the contract.

Milan are also expected to sign one or two more midfielders this summer, given that Ismael Bennacer will be sidelined until the end of the year. And the arrival of Loftus-Cheek certainly doesn’t fully replace Tonali.

  1. Cons:
    – Not young enough for his value to skyrocket
    – Injury prone
    – Never been an established starter
    – Using a ‘non EU’ spot

    Pros:
    – Experience with big teams
    – Not too many miles on the clock
    – A midfielder with physicality (or any midfielder right now)
    – Should be able to sell back to England if it doesn’t work out
    – High talent ceiling – if he stays fit and in form could be a bargain

    1. sums it up nicely. If he can stay fit he’ll be an asset, i think.
Better him of the bench than vrancx or bakayoko, lol

    2. Absolutely nobody in England wants him now so dunno how it’ll be easy to sell him back there if (when?) he’s poor for Milan.

  2. Yeh I’m not crazy about this move. Good player but can injured lacing his boots so if it were up to me I’d avoid. Especially with MilanLab’s record.

    1. Your still here u racist piece of trash???

Educate yourself kid and be better – big world out there. Get out of your bubble and learn about it and other people

      1. “Educate yourself kid and be better – big world out there. Get out of your bubble and learn about it and other people”

        Coming from you… Priceless!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

        1. thats the true face of the social justice clan.. They just want to belittle people and sow conflict.
They dont care about minorities, equality, the well being of fellow men..
Cant own up to their own indecency and all round lack of decorum.
Best thing to block them, cant do that ignoring will have to do

        2. I don’t know man – I don’t know what to say about this goofball anymore. Maybe he’ll put down Hunter’s crack pipe one day and lift out of the fog…

      2. With all due respect juro i might not always agree with everything dejan10 says but i cant recall him ever saying anything racist on this site or on any other for that matter.

          1. 😀 i dont think it was but i might be wrong but its sometimes a bit difficult to see who replies are for with that dashed line.

  3. Good deal – TY Maldini

Although if I recall the fee was lower when Maldini was negotiating it lol

IF IF IF he stays healthy – which is something he has yet to prove – he will be a great addition to the DM position. BUT it is a big IF. So we shouldn’t hold our breath.

What can we do – Redbird is NOT willing to spend $$ (even tho we have it and are profitable) so we have to go after players with questionable health issues, on free transfers or expiring deals or young and largely unproven talent. This is the REDBIRD Model. Wonderful

    1. Wrong. They could have got Samardzic for around the same price and I’m sure many of us could have come up with better options from Serie A. This isn’t on Redbird, it’s on the scouts.

  4. I dont know what milan management thinking
Spent 16 m euro for a player like this
    Rather go to amrabat
I think this gonna be our flop transfer
    Non EU player
    For god sake!!!

    1. Redbird wont spend 40M on ANY player unfortunately and that includes Amrabat. That’s why we are after these players.

All the Redbird lovers thought it was M&M fault – and when they were finally gone we would miraculously start spending big $$ and buying all these more expensive players – LOLOLOLOLO. Ya right.

Redbird have ZERO intention to WIN TITLES. Only win enough to stay relevant and keep the fans engaged to pump money from them – those are GERRY’s OWN WORDS not mine. Google a 2020 interview he did at the Dubai sports symposium. He says it all right there publicly how he views European football. “Keep the team between 6-11th place and pump the fans for $$$” – FACTS

    2. I don’t think this would exclude a move for Amrabat – we need at least 2 more midfielders in, at least one of them starting quality.

Unfortunately, we probably can’t afford both Ambrabat and Musah, but we need something like that to have some tactical options in midfield.

  5. Decent player. Would have been better to complement tonali and ismael rather than to try and take over for Sandro. Average player? Decent deal. Nothing special and overall a downgrade in a very important part of the team. Not excited about this. Nothing against RLC, he’s ok.

  6. I honestly rate RLC, BUT I hope this is the first of two new midfielders because he is not a replacement for Tonali and he’ll play 30 games tops.

  7. He’s so average it’s unbelievable. What’s the fascination with signing these players just because they played in the premier league. He won’t be as bad as Origi won’t he won’t be far off.

  8. One would need to have Panglossian optimism to believe that anything good would come out of this deal or our so called ‘leadership’. I have a premonition that we will be encountering a disappointment after disappointment throughout the summer. The fact that they fired Maldini (without EVER properly explaining their decision to the fans) and have agreed to sell one our best talents – Tonali – is a testament to the fact that no optimism can be properly justified!

    1. Too early to tell… it’s definitely a lot different than what we have been used to. Let’s see how this team looks before start of season. So far, a lot of PR disasters.

  9. Cardinale Out, RedBird out.

Management is a disgrace and is trying to make milan some generic machine and have no character. All about money and profits for investors. Sounds great being a fan. What a mess.
