Agent of Milan target Baldanzi expects first offers to arrive ‘soon’

Tommaso Baldanzi is one of the hotter names on the mercato after a successful season with Empoli. At the age of 20, he has attracted the interest of AC Milan as well as several other big clubs.

Baldanzi was promoted to the first team of Empoli this past season and managed to find the back of the net four times, making 27 appearances for the club. Most notably, he scored the winner for his side away at Inter.

Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, Baldanzi’s agent Federico Pastorello was asked about the future of his client and stated that he’s probably the ‘protagonist’ on the mercato. In fact, he expects offers to arrive soon.

“I think he will be a protagonist on the mercato, for me he’s the best young Italian and he has already shown that Serie A is his level. I think that offers will arrive soon, then we will talk about it with Empoli with whom the dialogue is cordial,” he stated.

The agent previously said that Baldanzi would likely stay at Empoli for one more year, but perhaps the stance has changed. In any case, Milan are certainly watching on especially since they need reinforcement in that position.

  1. If CDK is sold, Baldanzi should be the player to replace his position in the squad. He is younger, Italian, cheaper, and fits more of the profile that Pioli has used in his time with Milan. I don’t see him being targeted unless CDK is offloaded though.

    1. On of them can move to the RW tho. Or CDK can play even as a CF. They can play together. The only problem is that Milan has small budget and need other players too. However if we don’t get Baldanzi this year, next year he might be to expensive for us.

  2. My anger with this Milan side is this.. all of the transfer prospects are players who if were in our academy wouldn’t have broken through. My point is Pioli should give our academy players chances to see what they can do and at this rate no academy player would be willing to renew.

  3. “I think that offers will arrive soon” wait wut? I have a feeling he’s not as in demand as it seems, just one of the few Italians to choose from so his demand might be there

  4. I just don’t understand the love for this guy.

He’s small and he’s slow. That is a fatal combination in my book.

I have watched him closely in at least 6 or 7 games games now and he’s not even a particularly good dribbler.

He has a heavier centre of gravity than Brahim and is harder to get off the ball. But he doesn’t have the speed or dribbling ability.

And Brahim gets shut of of games with absolute ease.

I’ve said it a million times, Daniel Maldini can do everything Baldanzi does with a much higher ceiling.

    1. You are completely right.

The biggest problem in calcio is how high teams value technical skills and tacticall knowledge compared to physicality, agility and speed. Hopefully this will change and we recruit more players with that have speed and physicallity as characteristics.

  5. if CDK / Adli hardly get playing time here, i doubt this kid will, he is like slow version of Diaz.. those 2 will easily bench Baldanzi if they play at Empoli, maybe better get Gasperini / de Zarbi cz they good in giving young Italian chances

    1. Getting de zerbi more expensive than baldanzi . You need to pay brighton 20m euro release clause de zerbi , give him salary same as brighton give. Also dont forget pay pioli salary till 2025
