The track seemed to go cold, but then reports from Portugal emerged last month claiming that something still could be in the pipeline as Everton wants a move to the Rossoneri.
That speculation was quickly squashed by sources at the club, and now the player’s representative – Marcelo Serafini – has lifted the lid on how far talks with Milan actually went.
He told il Mattino: “With Milan there was a lot of talks before Leonardo’s farewell to the Rossoneri leadership.”
Instead, it now appears that the new-look hierarchy of Paolo Maldini, Boban and Ricky Massara are examining other targets, such as Atletico Madrid’s Angel Correa or perhaps even Lyon’s Memphis Depay.
