The agent of Simon Kjaer has revealed that he has still not heard from AC Milan regarding making his client’s loan move a permanent deal.
The Danish international started alongside Alessio Romagnoli in the heart of defence in Friday’s 0-0 Coppa Italia semi-final draw with Juventus, the first time Milan have stopped Juve scoring at the Allianz Stadium.
Tuttosport reported on Monday (via MilanNews) that there are three factors which work in favour of Kjaer regarding making his stay at San Siro a permanent one: the fact he would cost just €2.5million, his excellent understanding with Romagnoli and the element of experience he could offer a young squad.
MilanNews spoke to Kjaer’s agent Mikkel Beck about his client’s future and the chances of a stay at Milan beyond the summer.
“Simon is extremely happy with AC Milan. He has always felt very comfortable from the first time he joined the club. I think he is playing well and that he has adapted very quickly to his new team, so he is really happy with the Rossoneri,” he said.
Is Kjaer’s desire to stay at Milan again next season?
“Yes, Simon would love to stay at Milan again next season and I think there are possibilities, given that Milan have an option to redeem him from Sevilla. We hope that Simon with his extremely positive performances will show Milan that they can keep him also for the next season.
“We talked to Milan, but for the moment the club still keeps their cards close. We will wait a little longer for their decision.
“We haven’t set any meetings so far. The only thing that is really important is the date by which AC Milan can redeem him from Sevilla, or by June 30. Let’s wait for this date and we will know if AC Milan wants to continue the adventure with Simon or not.
“We hope so, because, as mentioned before, he really likes the club. Simon thinks that he can help the team in the next 2-3 years to come and therefore believes that it can be a good option is for him than for the same club if they continued together.”
