Yacine Adli has spent most of this season on the bench and it remains to be seen if he will stay at AC Milan beyond this summer. In the meantime, the midfielder has also made some changes on the international front.
Adli was signed by the Rossoneri for €8m back in 2021, but they agreed to leave him at Bordeaux on a one-year loan. Since ‘returning’ to the club, however, the midfielder has only registered 121 minutes of playing time.

The 22-year-old looked promising during the pre-season and he also did well in the few appearances he has made this season. Yet, Pioli has favoured the likes of Brahim Diaz, Charles De Ketelaere and Rade Krunic in the No.10 role.
According to DZ News, as cited by SportItalia, Adli is getting tired of the lack of playing time and has decided to switch from the French national team to the Algerian national team. It was reported last year as well, but it never materialised then. This time, the assistant manager of Algeria has confirmed it.
“Yacine Adli has chosen Algeria. The player has shown a lot of interest and willingness to join us. Djamel Belmadi has preferred to let him concentrate on his club ]Milan] because his situation is difficult. He will join us when he regains his level,” he stated.
