Sky: ‘A skilled manager of big players’ – Allegri an idea if Milan decide to sack Fonseca

The match in Verona could be very important for the future of Paulo Fonseca at AC Milan, Sky are suggesting, and there is a name in mind to replace him.

For as much as Fonseca’s honesty with certain situations and his desire to demand the best from his players has been appreciated, things are stacking up against him. His management of the stars in the squad and of course the results have led to concerns he may not be the right man.

Manuele Baiocchini spoke live on Sky (via MilanNews) and put forward Max Allegri’s name as a potential replacement. At the moment there has been no contact of any kind, but in the event that the situation were to worsen with Fonseca – perhaps with a bad result on Friday – that could change.

It would be a return to Milan for Allegri who was the coach during the Scudetto-winning season of 2010-11 and the Supercoppa Italiana win a season later. The Italian ‘has proven to be a skilled manager of big players’, as per the journalist.

It remains only a future hypothesis to be verified, given that the directors does not seem inclined to change the Portuguese coach and will have full faith in him until they absolutely need to change. They also need to see results though, and that is why the next few days could be decisive.

  1. Allegri is the obvious choice.

He’d rebuild the relationship with the senior players whilst giving youth players an opportunity.

Fonseca needs to before he ruins both.

    1. Have you not seen what his boring, defensive, loser tactics resulted in. People say he won 5 in a row at Juve but that was after the Conte affect just like Inzaghi now at Inter. There’s a reason why no one hires him even when he’s available whilst spewing out lies that he turned down Real Madrid. Their supporters would never allow it.

  2. when they were searching for a coach, Allegri was a hard no for me. Now, I’m actually warming up to the idea! only reason is because my beloved Rossonero bleeds goals!! Fonseca was supposed to bring defensive stability to the team like he did at Lille and their defensive record is as horrendous as it was under Pioli! I’m from Canada and we have saying in North America that holds very true, Defense wins championships!! its true for every team sport, basketball, hockey, football (American), Baseball (pitching)!
