Ambrosini deeply worried about Milan: “They have nothing left, they have no soul”

Massimo Ambrosini has joined the crowd of pundits and journalists concerned about the direction of travel for AC Milan.

It’s been a tough time AC Milan, who in these final three games of the season find themselves defending third place and consequently Champions League qualification, a goal that seemed to be in the bag only a month ago.

The Rossoneri have their destiny in their own hands but must significantly reverse their path after winning two of their last seven games. The attack has gone from bad to worse with just one goal scored in the last five games.

Former Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini discussed the difficult recent period for Milan during the program Elastici, airing Tuesday evenings on Cronache di Spogliatoio.

“Milan have always had, especially in the first half of the season, a fairly recognisable soul and spirit. They weren’t a presumptuous team, they were a humble team. They were a team that didn’t have an attractive style, which they never had, but they had some plays,” he said (via MilanNews).

“Now, in my opinion, they have nothing left, they have no soul, they are presumptuous because they are no longer humble either, because their lack of performance against Sassuolo testifies to that perception.

“Milan relied on the individual plays, the personality of two players in particular, because Milan was supported by Modric and Rabiot. If one of them is missing, the team has less personality.

“Right now, Milan have nothing except one fundamental thing: a margin of advantage that is saving them and will probably save them in getting to the only thing that matters.”

  1. “They were a team that didn’t have an attractive style…”

Well said captain, the only Italian I heard with balls to say it as it is.

While not holding brief for Cardinale, I must say, the collapse this season was purely from the sporting guys and not the ownership. We were all excited going into the season as they hired a real and experienced Sporting Director and were handed funds to do their job. They wasted money, time and effort to sign Nkunku, Jashari and Ricci as our main targets plus a coach who plays defensively.

How would you blame the ownership for that?
