Ambrosini on Empoli-Milan: “Perhaps we will remember this at the end of the season”

AC Milan claimed all three points in the most dramatic fashion against Empoli on Saturday evening. Fode Ballo-Toure was the hero with a stoppage-time goal and Massimo Ambrosini believes it could end up being a huge win.

The Rossoneri were keen on bouncing b back from the loss against Napoli and had many chances to take the lead against Empoli. However, they had to wait until the 79th minute when Ante Rebic found the back of the net. A lead which didn’t last in the end.

Nedim Bajrami’s free-kick, in the 92nd minute, brought Empoli back to level pegging and what followed was an amazing sign of strength from Milan, Speaking to DAZN (via MilanNews), former Milan captain Ambrosini shared his thoughts.

“Milan won a match that perhaps we will remember at the end of the season. They exploited the unforgivable mistakes of the Empoli defence, but they really wanted this victory. Milan had a great reaction after the 1-1 goal, it’s a team that rebels against the result. They wanted to take back the three points. They are heavy points that could be important in the future,” he stated.

Milan will take on Chelsea, Juventus, and then Chelsea again in the upcoming games and they will need all the confidence they can get. Especially considering the injury situation, which hasn’t made life easy for Stefano Pioli.
