Ambrosini urges Milan ‘not to be afraid’ against Spurs and to play with ‘conviction’

By Oliver Fisher -

Former AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini has urged the team to show conviction in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie against Spurs.

Milan take on Tottenham with the difficult albeit advantageous position of having a one-goal lead to protect, with Brahim Diaz having scored the only goal of the first leg back at San Siro last month.

The Rossoneri have a pretty awful record when it comes to away games against Premier League sides but they will be hoping to turn the tables on that against a Spurs side that have been equally inconsistent in 2023.

Ambrosini is a pundit on Prime Video tonight and he spoke about the qualities needed to face the great Champions League nights, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“What do you need on nights like this? Personalities, you have to enter with the conviction of not being subjected to the atmosphere, the ambition to show off qualities and above all not to be afraid. We all hope that Milan will find the resources to show themselves,” he said.

Ambrosini is certainly a player who knows what it takes in this competition having won it twice with Milan in 2002-03 and 2006-07.
