Ambrosini warns Liverpool as Milan have ‘changed style’ but not their quality

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are finally back in the Champions League, after seven long years, and will take on Liverpool this evening. With three wins in the bag (in the league), the Rossoneri will be looking for another positive result.

Over the summer, with the departures of Gigio Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu, many have questioned Milan’s squad. Some have even suggested that it’s worse than last season, but midfield legend Massimo Ambrosini doesn’t agree.

While losing those two on free transfers was a blow, Milan adopted a different tactic this summer to reinforce the team. If the 4-2-3-1 formation was a certainty last season, it isn’t this time out, as we saw in pre-season.

Speaking on DAZN, as cited by MilanNews, Ambrosini explained why Liverpool shouldn’t focus too much on the departures and the signings Milan made during the summer. After all, they are still performing on a very high level in the league.

“Milan have changed their style but not the quality of their players. The team needs time but the results show that the Rossoneri are doing very well,” he stated.
