Ancelotti says it would be ‘ideal’ for Real Madrid to meet Milan in UCL final

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he would like his side to face AC Milan in the Champions League final should either side make it that far.

Speaking to Mediaset Infinity (via Milan News) after the match against Chelsea on Tuesday night, the former Milan coach discussed two of his old teams.

Ancelotti’s Real Madrid side beat Chelsea 4-0 on aggregate in their quarter-final which means that they will face either Manchester City or Bayern Munich in the semi-final of the Champions League.

With Milan getting the better of Napoli in their quarter-final, it is still on the cards for Ancelotti to be up against Milan in the final.

Talking about Milan’s success in the competition so far, Ancelotti said: “It’s a great achievement for AC Milan, although we must congratulate Napoli who are having an extraordinary season. The ideal would be to meet Milan in the final, even if the road is long.

“History counts in these competitions: the shirt weighs and it’s no coincidence that Milan and Real are the ones who have won the most.”

Real Madrid’s domestic season has not gone to plan given they are very unlikely to win LaLiga, but they are playing very well in the Champions League and are contenders to win it again.
