APA Milan publicly express ‘support and appreciation’ for management’s stance on renewals

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan Small Shareholders Association have backed the club’s firm stance when it comes to the renewals of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu.

Milan have found themselves in a difficult situation regarding the aforementioned duo as no progress has been made over a possible contract extension with both of their deals set to expire at the end of next month. This had led to the very realistic possibility that both players will leave the club on a free transfer, with directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara seemingly unwilling to budge amid agent pressure.

Now, APA Milan (the Small Shareholders Association) have voiced their support for the firm stance that the management continue to deploy regarding each player via an official statement.

This is the press release issued today (via MilanLive):

“APA Milan has closely followed the evolution of player renewals with contracts expiring. APA Milan would like to publicly express its support and appreciation for the hard line held by the management towards those players and their agents who thought they could blackmail them to obtain engagements that are not in line with a healthy and sustainable management of a football club. AC Milan belongs to those who love it, not to those who want to exploit it.”
