El Nacional: Arsenal boss Arteta ‘obsessed’ with Real Madrid forward Milan want for €13-15m

Reports continue to emerge suggesting that Brahim Diaz has admirers in the Premier League amid uncertainty over his future beyond the summer.

According to the latest from El Nacional (via F365), Arsenal are hoping to build on the momentum they have currently by bolstering their squad further in the summer, and their head coach Mikel Arteta sees Brahim Diaz as a ‘new Odegaard case’.

Brahim is in the second of a two-year loan at Milan from Real Madrid but could join them permanently for €22m, though the report claims that the Rossoneri management want that figure lowered to between €13-15m.

Arteta believes that he can do similar with the Spaniard as he did with Odegaard by signing another talented forward ‘discarded by Madrid’. The Gunners boss is apparently ‘obsessed’ with Diaz and believes ‘he can have a very leading role at Arsenal’.

The 23-year-old has scored five goals in 29 games for Milan this season and has kept the big summer signing Charles De Ketelaere out of the starting XI for the most part too.
