From Spain: Arsenal and Newcastle targeting Milan forward Leao despite renewal speculation

By Oliver Fisher -

Arsenal and Newcastle United have both set their sights on signing AC Milan forward Rafael Leao in the summer, according to a report.

According to Fichajes in Spain (via The Sun), the Gunners are keen on bolstering their attacking options and they are keen on landing Leao, who has 10 goals and 6 assists in 27 appearances across all competitions so far in the current campaign.

Leao is under contract at the San Siro until 2024 and there is a lot of talk that a renewal is not far away which certainly strengthens Milan’s position, given that Everton and Wolves were quoted £50m to sign him last year and he is certainly in the rise.

Newcastle are expected to make more big-money signings if they avoid relegation meanwhile given that their new owners spent big in January with the next step in their project set to be aspirations of European football.

  1. to any interested clubs, 120m Euro or don’t even bother calling, selling him for less is stupidity. I just hope he signs a renewal soon before he really explodes.
