AC Milan are in the race to land Barcelona defender Emerson this summer, reports in Spain claim, but there is strong competition from two clubs in particular.
Earlier this week there was talk of first contacts between Milan and Barcelona, the team that owns the Emerson, who is currently on loan at Real Betis until 2021.
Indeed rumours have since persisted that Milan want the 21-year-old in order to address a key issue in the current squad, that is the right side of the defence where Andrea Conti and Davide Calabria have not been consistent.
However, it appears they are not alone in their pursuit, as a report from AS claims Emerson has gone ‘from unknown to desired by greats’, with Tottenham, Inter and Milan all mentioned as in the running.
Given the complicated nature of the current agreement, any deal would have to please all of Betis, Barca and Emerson, with a €20million price tag mentioned by the Italian media.
