CM: Atalanta come forward for Pavlovic after key defensive injury – the situation

Interest in Strahinja Pavlovic has mainly come from abroad so far, however, AC Milan may also receive a request from Atalanta in the coming days it seems.

There has been a lot about Pavlovic’s future in recent days, and most of it seems to have to do with a move away from Milan. However, it is imagined that certain details about a replacement would have to be worked out before any potential departure.

Chelsea’s Axel Disasi is the liked replacement, but there has been no movement for the defender yet, so whether this would affect any movement for Pavlovic is yet to be seen.

Today, the big news has been about Stuttgart’s interest in the out-of-favour defender, but this afternoon, Calciomercato.com have reported that the Serbian’s entourage has had contact with Atalanta over a move to Bergamo.

The report, relayed by Pianeta Milan, states that the injury to Kossounou is serious so a replacement must be found soon, and La Dea have identified the central defender as a possible option. However, there has been no talk about figures yet.

Leicester City have also entered themselves into the picture as they bid to strengthen their chances of Premier League survival. Imaginably though, they would not be able to fulfil the requirements for Pavlovic to depart.

    1. That leaves us with Tomori and Gabbia, injured Thiaw and a maybe on Walker’s CB contributions.

Do you trust our circus to properly replace Pavlo?

      1. Is that the same circus that sign this same defender that everyone wants to keep now?
Same Pavlovic that prior to the Girona game the same people that want to keep him were saying that he is trash, waste of money and the people that sign him should be fired?
What happened to the great Bartesaghi?

      2. We say replace Pavlo (has he even earned a nickname?) but he has barely played the last several months. Not sure what contributions we need to replace. Let everyone else fall in love from one performance and overpay, we can use that money elsewhere.

    1. We’ve no idea what his level is but he’s mostly played terribly.

But I do love the instant loyalty fans show to new players.

  1. Nope no way that we should further strengthen them, but if our management really blindly has set their sight on offloading him then a straight swap for Scalvini, Ederson or Lookman otherwise the Bergamaschi management can go F themselves.
None of those deals will happen and neither should Pavlovic join them.

      1. Too quick to say that as he is still very young and to completely disregard the fact that he is 20 or 21 years old is just silly either way there is no chance Atalanta would do a straight swap with any of the players as i also mentioned in my post.

  2. Big NO
So we’re giving up one of our CBs, despite having an injured CB ourselves and another that is currently underperfoming to put it midly to a direct concurrent so we can get yet another prospect who is barely playing with Chelsea ?
    Gimme a break.

    1. As a Como fan this is being quite entertaining.

Serious question – what would it take you to stop supporting this club that is passing itself off as AC Milan?

        1. I hope you wouldn’t be alone!

But some on here would probably get excited about his transfer announcements (it would all be mostly hot air!).

          1. I know some of the people here well enough to say that they probably would follow suit or at least take a break from the club under such an ownership but obviously some wouldn’t and that would be their choice to make. Haha Yeah I can imagine the rumor mill of the mercatos with fake news and make belief would increase exponentially 😀

      1. For my case I’d say if the club is purchased by an irredeemable entity, like israel or maybe Trump.
I’ve supported this club when it had players that had no business playing for it, when it’s was closer to relegation than to a title, I ain’t givin up now.
Moncada, Zlatan, Cardinale will be gone one day but the club will remain and hopefully will be managed by an entity more respectful to the club values.

      1. Pavlovic is the 2nd or 3rd player of all of our players who has reached the highest maximum speed this season so stop implying he is slow and I know that because I recently checked max speeds of our players. He might some time look a bit clumpsy due to his large frame and size but he surely is not slow and probably is our defender with the most potential.

  3. CDK all over again lol. This idiots never learn. Our CBs should not be touched. Also Pavlovic is not even our worst CB and he is a big young prospect. This sell makes no sense.

  4. Once again…Pavlović is a great defender. He needs some adapt time for Serie A,but I see huge potential in him.It would be such a shame to sell him now where we finaly have 4 good CB s,means,we are finaly complete on CB.Why not get rid of Ruben,Okafor,Chuky,Jović…they are all dead wood,am I right?

      1. Really before you start trolling and offending people here out of the blue in your first comment here then you do realize that there once lived a gorilla who spoke sign language right ? its name was coincidentally Koko you dumb@ss.

  5. The fact that there are so many suitors of him even when he barely play should tell that the management has to keep him!
He’s young and talented, he just needs time to adapt.
We gave time for kalulu, tomori, thiaw, surely we can give him time as well.

  6. Atalanta has the best scouting in Italy and one the best in Europe right now. If they want Pavlovic like they did with CDK then we have a great talent on our hands. He showed that against Girona. DO NOT SELL.

    1. The best scouting? lol, the only scouting they do is take a walk at Casa Milan and just take what we don’t want and turn them into super stars!

Look at Atalanta’s roster – how many players come from AC ?

  7. Atlanta!!
Please take Pavlovic away from this Milan. And win the title, with former Milan forward.

Probably this Milan is all about taking money from the Fans, and help the rivals win the title race ??

  8. Pavlovic should play vs bottom table teams to get Serie A experience without too much pressure. He has potential; good coaching and some experience might be all he needs.

  9. I’d rather sell my kidney than have Pavlovic and Tomori go to Atalanta and Juve… we should literally never do business with them… at least until owners change

  10. For some reason I can’t bring myself to support Atalanta.

Maybe it’s because they’ve been Milan’s rivals too long.

Plus I’ve got some great memories of Como. Plus a massive man crush on Cutrone.

Calabria needs to go to Como and then they need to sign Gabbia and Locatelli.

      1. And the exact sort of midfielder Milan are missing!

All we need is a slightly more defensive RB to compliment our more attacking LB like we had when we won the Scudetto and we’d be set….

    1. Yeah He’s fine, not like Grant Gustin fine but pretty good looking. (I thought of my nickname being Kaka is mad fine before I settled on this)

  11. Milan management of players is pure shit. I don’t understand why any player wants to join AC when they are going to be treat like a throw away garbage whenever their plan goes pear shape …. which seems this is their norm. The bullshit they have created this season will not be resolved by the current useless idiots in managements. They need to be replace first before AC can get back on their winning ways.

  12. This guy has not been given enough time to show case his talent.Pls give him another chance to prove his worth. After all we keep playing Royal with little results to show. We should learn a lesson from the sales of CDL, Kalulu, Maldini, Salarmaekers. A club can buy a great player and may not be able to get the best out of him. I am sure if Conte is our Coach we would have been on top of Series A table because he has the ability to propel player to perform at the highest level.

    1. I agree with your assessments in regard of giving him his chances to prove himself but Saelemaekers is still owned by us and Roma doesn’t have a buy option inserted in that deal and same goes for Tammy at loan at us so in theory the Belgian could come back for us even if I doubt it would actually happen.

  13. if we sell pavlo to Atalanta, he will be the best CB in the world in 2 years. Gasperini man, he does wonders

  14. to not give a player a chance who’s on his first year in a completely new environment is definitely crazy and stupid. CDK version 2 here we come.

  15. Sign a young foreign player from a foreign (and much lesser) league, play him a few times and then actively trying to offload him after six months is madness. All that scouting & eventual signing wasted.

Tonali, a local, was terrible in his first year for us despite a lot of playing opportunities then exploded in his second year. He was so bad Maldini had to renegotiate already agreed terms with Brescia (smart piece of business imo).

If they won’t give young players (especially non-italians) time to settle to a new country/city, food, culture, language, club, then don’t sign them.

    Gosh, I miss Maldini.

And we need to stop strengthening direct rivals every transfer window. Who are the amateurs running this club?!

    1. Exactly right. I’ve always saw potential in Pavlovic. He is very young. He doesn’t look young given his big frame and a face that isn’t a baby face, LOL, but he is, what, 23? He just came from another country, language, league, coach, club; he did have some good games for us (the first few; the last one) then had a drop in performance. His main problem is positioning which is a learnable skill. He needs more time. He adds depth to the CB position, is left-footed which helps, has grinta, and we shouldn’t be strengthening rivals. At most, Pavlovic should be loaned to a Serie A mid- to low-table club for more adaptation to Serie A. Or else, he could play for Futuro for a few games. Selling him now is a mistake.

Someone said above that the fan base is suddenly in love with Pavlovic. Not me. I always said we need to give him more time.

      1. For me he was the most intriguing signing in the summer with Fofana and that I’ve stood by all the way as well.
