Despite being part of the first clean sheet of the Sergio Conceicao era, Strahinja Pavlovic seemingly does not have a future at AC Milan, and there is a way out on the table.
Pavlovic’s start to Milanese life was somewhat positive. The Serbian looked a level above other defenders at the start of the season. However, he quickly tailed off. As the season developed, chances were few and far between, and eventually, his status within the squad was at an all-time low.

With Conceicao coming in, reports have suggested that the Portuguese wanted to assess players himself, and although it was a forced change, the Serbian defender was thrown into the starting XI against Girona.
It is the first time that Milan have kept a clean sheet under Conceicao, so perhaps, a future could have been imagined. Nevertheless, Gianluca Di Marzio reports that there is no interest from the head coach in keeping him at the club. The defender is ‘not in his plans’ and he could leave after only six months.
Stuttgart have emerged as an interested party, and the German club have proposed a loan deal with an obligation to buy €15-16 million. All that is left is for the Rossoneri to show willingness to the deal, if that happens, a move could occur quickly.

Kidding aside, he is young and could become a real factor for this club if he is just given a bit of time to adjust and shown a bit of patience im sure he will become a force to be reckonned with. If they can’t show him that then they shouldn’t expect any either.

It’s not like we have a lot of CBs anyway? So replacing a young guy we scouted and took a chance on only to ditch him after 6 months seems far too rushed. Not like he’s on big wages, it’s possible he’ll be worth a lot more in a couple years.
This seems like something else, perhaps his agent is pushing for a move or the player fell out personally with Conceicao?
Yeah absolutely and we would most likely also have to wait for another player to settle in and potentially further limiting our chances for cl qualification next year so I simply see no point in it. Yes I can also see him become a really great cb with a bit of adjustment and guidance.
Personally I think if this story is true then it’s more about the management not given enough cash in the mercato or they simply doesn’t know what they are doing.
Anyways Pavlovic said himself the other day that he wanted to stay at the club so I would be quite surprised if he actually were to leave us. Personally this was the transfer I was most intrigued about in the summer, that and the Fofana deal.

They can always play Musah out-of-position and Terracciano isn’t great at anything so he must be a perfect backup-backup player, right? 🙂
Aaaaand you can always count on Theo covering the CB spot like last year. And we’ve got plenty of Theo-backups too, right? 🙂
The only ones we should sell are RLC, Okafor, Jovic, Emerson (injured now…), and Chukwueze (only if Conceicao doesn’t see any value in him, I still think he can turn his career around).
Pavlovic as n4 is more than enough
I feel quite sorry for how Jovic has been mistreated this season and Chukwueze I had quite big hopes for him when he joined us but at this point I wouldn’t oppose any of those sales you are suggesting. Chukwueze has shown some glimpses of his qualities but I think he has pretty much been a big one dimensional bust with us and is a fairly high earner at 5 mil gross pr. season and he will turn 26 in may so at this point I’d actually rather sell him and bring in Berardi even though he is older he at least offers guarantees in g/a contribution and should come cheaper than Chukwueze probably can be sold for.

I recently checked this seasons top speeds of our entire squad and Pavlovic was 2nd or 3rd fastest player in max speed reached. His large frame and size makes him look more clumpsy and slow than he actually is and had we not had him in our XI against Girona then we most likely would have conceeded a goal or two.
I feel sorry for Pavlovic to get into this mess (the management), also i have been critical about him. He is slow and taking big risk trying to hunt down ball carriers high up on the pitch. But I don’t mind having him as a squad player and try to understand the game in Serie A, playing against more physical strikers (as long as he doesn’t lose it big time as he did against Lukaku)

Selling him will be another big mistake. He is only 23. His main issue is positioning. This could be learned with proper guidance. Otherwise he has grinta, good work rate, and did have some good games despite mistakes made in other games. It is not unusual for players this young to struggle in their first season with a new league, new coach, new city, new team, so, give the guy some time.

I don’t get the need to sell Pavlo to then turn around and look for another defender. Why? What he has shown has been a mix of good and ehhhh. His erratic and aggressive tendencies can be overcome. Otherwise he’s strong and there’s a good defender in him …

The article says the coach doesn’t like him. Not sure why or if I believe it as conceicao literally said he likes the player even though he needs to work on his positioning. I thinking this is all smoke. Fenerbahce offered 30m which might have been an offer to good relative to what the coach wants.
This would be a bad decision. Wasn’t there an articel yesterday that Ibra convinced Pavlovic to turn down an offer? Seems to be some disconnect between Moncada and Ibra. Seems like Moncada wants to sell Pavlovic and Ibra does not.
I am still waiting for the Maldini haters to justify their new management’s waste of financial resources. Balance the books but waste the money on poor signings every transfer window. Help me out?
Get rid of useless Morata and overhyped Abraham, keep Jovic and Pavlovic (and give them a chance to prove themselves), and buy that mejico guy from Feyenoord. Then we will be able to catch that 4th place and play UCL again next year. Otherwise, if you keep relying on Morata who rarely scores and Abraham who only scored a few lucky goals – we are toasted! Those guys combined have scored less goals than an average Serie A forward which is a huge reason why we are 8th on the table. Stop giving THEM a chance, and start giving chances to others who have been heavily mistreated and benched and blamed for everything. How could they even be responsible for anything when they haven’t got a chance to play??? Insanity.
