From Spain: Bakayoko’s loan at Milan could end early as Sevilla hope for a swap with Chelsea

By Oliver Fisher -

A report in Spain has claimed that Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan spell at AC Milan could end early and he may be used in an exchange deal involving Chelsea and Sevilla.

El Gol Digital are reporting that Fernando is one of the pillars of Julen Lopetegui’s Sevilla side but they can no longer ignore that he is 34 years of age, which is why their management are already working on the arrival of a new player in the summer.

This is where Bakayoko comes in, given that the Frenchman is a player who has been on sporting director Monchi’s radar for several seasons. Their hope is that they can advantage of Chelsea’s interest in their centre-back Jules Koundé, and that Bakayoko could be inserted into the operation to lower the price of the French defender.

From Bakayoko’s point of view he has not had continuity since his last loan spell with the Rossoneri in 2018-19 and is looking for a club where he feels important. He has only accumulated 597 minutes in 17 games so far this season which is why he would be in favour of another new experience. However, the situation must be resolved with Milan too.
