Bari owner jokes about signing Ibrahimovic this summer: “Why not!”

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is yet to decide his future and talks over a future at AC Milan have been postponed until the end of the season. Something which has resulted in some speculation about his future, with a few sarcastic suggestions.

The 40-year-old, who will turn 41 in October, has struggled with quite a lot of injuries this season and that has raised doubts about his future. Having recovered from his most recent injury, though, the final five games of the season could say a lot.

It’s a discussion that Ibrahimovic and Maldini must have at the end of the season, but nothing can be ruled out at this point. Well, perhaps a few things can be debunked, such as Aurelio De Laurentiis’s joke about a Bari move.

Speaking to Corriere Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, the Napoli and Bari owner stated that he would like to bring Ibrahimovic to Bari for next season. They are currently in Serie C but a promotion to the second division is close.

“We want to fight to be promoted immediately. I’m amused to death by Ibra. A character like no one else, great communication, powerful, irreverent. Bring him to Bari at 41? Why not! (laughs),” he stated.
