Bennacer assures Ibrahimovic is ‘still the same’ and says derby is ‘a great match for us’

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the important clash against Inter, Ismael Bennacer spoke to the media about what to expect. The Algerian will start alongside his usual partner, Franck Kessie, in the heart of the midfield.

Milan have lost the last four derbies and will be looking to break the negative trend this evening. They have certainly impressed in the last few months, going 19 games unbeaten, and tonight’s game is a real test for them.

In an interview with Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews.it, Bennacer praised Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has just recovered from COVID-19. He also made it clear that they need to treat the derby just like any other game.

“It’s a derby, it’s a great match for us and for them. It’s a derby, like all matches we have to score and win. Ibra? He’s fine, in form, he’s still the same. It’s the Ibrahimovic we know,” he said.

Hopefully, Stefano Pioli’s men will break the trend and come out on top this time, which is something that the Rossoneri fans have been waiting for. Kick-off is scheduled at 18:00 and Inter are the designated home side.
