Bennacer reflects on Lecce draw and insists ‘united’ Milan ‘believe in the Scudetto’

By Isak Möller -

Ismael Bennacer was probably the best AC Milan player in tonight’s clash against Lecce, which finished 2-2 after a two-goal comeback from the Rossoneri. Afterwards, he was understandably disappointed.

The Rossoneri lacked focus at the start of the game and conceded two goals as a result. In the second half, they certainly improved and thus managed to make it 2-2, but still lacked the final energy to make it three points.

Bennacer was the best Milan player this evening, as per our player ratings, and he spoke to DAZN after the game (via MilanNews). Understandably so, he was disappointed with the result and the way they performed.

On the game…

“We wanted the three points, we didn’t start well, we conceded two goals. Then we got back into the game. We could have even scored the third goal. We have to win again.”

On the approach to the match…

“We are all united. We have to work.”

On the Scudetto…

“We still believe in the Scudetto and we will do it until the end. We have to analyze what didn’t go well today and improve.”

On the Super Cup…

“We are a great team, even in difficult moments. Wednesday is a final and you want to win a final.”

Milan will take on Inter next Wednesday in the Supercoppa Italiana final. They had hoped for tonight’s clash to be a confidence boost but that didn’t happen, making it even tougher for Wednesday.
