Yesterday evening the announcement arrived confirming that Ismael Bennacer has extended his contract with AC Milan until 2027.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report this morning how Bennacer’s contract extension is fully deserved by the player who has become an immovable part of Stefano Pioli’s plans, to the extent that there is a stark difference in how the team play when he is not there.
Milan recognised the growth of the Algerian and now Bennacer will earn €4m net per season plus bonuses compared to the €1.5m he got before. There is a €50m release clause in the deal which can only be activated by foreign clubs starting from 2024 and only for the first two weeks of the market.
Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara leveraged Bennacer’s desire to stay at the club and now they are only missing the last two pieces before they have a full set of renewals, namely Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud.
According to what filters from Casa Milan and what Maldini himself admitted, things seem to be going in the right direction regarding the Portuguese winger and Milan have bid €7.5-7.7m net per season including bonuses.
At the moment the discussions between the parties are going on via video calls but Leao’s lawyer is expected in the coming days at Casa Milan to try to find an agreement.
Olivier Giroud’s deal expires in the summer, but talks with his agent Manuello are ongoing and the goal is to renew the French striker for another season with an option for 2025.
