AC Milan were beaten by Sassuolo in Massimiliano Allegri’s last game in charge, but how did the day actually go?
All signs point in the direction of Allegri returning to Milan in the near future. In fact, the coach is in a meeting with Giorgio Furlani currently to finalise the details of his new deals, per reports. Of course, this won’t be a first for the coach, though.

To kickstart the 2010s, Allegri arrived after two years with Cagliari and won a Serie A title, as well as the Supercoppa Italiana. However, his ending certainly was not as impressive, with his final game in charge ending 4-3 in the Neroverdi’s favour, as Football Italia recap.
That day, as has become a commodity, Domenico Berardi haunted the Rossoneri, scoring four goals against the side. Only this season did he find a new favourite opponent to score against, with Sampdoria’s 12 goals against Berardi overtaking the 11 scored against the Diavolo.
The scoreline that day was probably a little shocking considering some of the players who played. You look at the likes of Christian Abbiati and Kaka. Then, Robinho and Mario Balotelli, both of whom scored. There certainly are no faces from that team still present in the squad now…

Just look at the team he had in his first year and the one he had in his last. It was Silvio who f*cked up with his crimes and AC Milan paid for it. As I recall he wanted Hamšik right after they won Scudetto and Galliani was on it but then he sold him Ibra and Silva instead after Silvio was ordered to pay big penalty.
Good point, allegri struggled with some game manegment this but picking the right players for his system is a strength and by that time Berlusconi was out of money.
It’s not only silvio but galliani as well. Actually his success is also because of Berlusconi who were willing to buy Ibra, Robinho and Prince. Allegri give me an impression that he can’t build a team. His success at juve is also because he inherited conte team and refined it further
Once Braida left, Galliani took all the power and worked on all fronts as a one man band taking decisions about all aspects from finances to sporting department. It was almost the same as it is now. Or at least as it was for the last 2 seasons without a proper sporting director.
As said, Allegri had some clear ideas who he wants to build the team further and his first request was Hamšik. He was the bomb at the time.
