Boost for Milan and Inter as Fabrizio Romano rules out chance of Man Utd signing midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

Manchester United are not a possible destination for reported AC Milan and Inter target Sandro Tonali, it is claimed.

The 20-year-old Tonali is already an Italy international and is expected to move on from Brescia this summer following their relegation to Serie B, with a number of big clubs linked.

Thursday’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com) claimed that Inter are still optimistic about closing a deal for Tonali and are one step away from doing so. However, they added that Milan and Manchester United have not given up just yet and could launch their own attempt to sign him.

However, Fabrizio Romano appears to have ruled out one possible destination on Twitter, responding to a fan asking about Tonali to Manchester United links with: “He’ll stay in Italy.”

Therefore it appears to be a straight shootout between Milan and Inter for Tonali, with the Nerazzurri seemingly still in pole.
