Borini joins Higuain and Cutrone on injury list, confirms Gattuso

As confirmed by Milan manager during today’s press conference, Milan could be without a striker on Sunday when they take on Sassuolo away from home.

The Rossoneri are certainly experiencing a striker crisis, as their man forward Cutrone and Higuain are both injured. In addition to this, as confirmed by Gattuso, the emergency fix Borini is also suffering from an ankle issue, meaning he could miss the game tomorrow.

“Even Borini has an ankle problem, this morning he pointed that out. We will have to think of something, we will be eleven players on the pitch. Higuain was tested yesterday and he still has some issues. It’s not worth risking a player if it means they are out for one or two months,” Gattuso concluded.

It’s possible that Milan will have to try either Calhanoglu or Bonaventura in the false nine role, with the latter having a clear advantage thanks to his aerial ability.
