AC Milan are just two games and four points away from their first Scudetto since the 2010/11 season. After the Rossoneri’s impressive comeback last night, which showed character, Ariedo Braida shared his thoughts.
The former Milan director, interviewed by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), was asked about the potential of Rafael Leao and Milan’s season as a whole. The Portuguese winger really did show his class last night, bagging two crucial assists.
“Leao? Potentially a champion. But he’s young, he still has to grow. He has done impressive things, two wonderful assists. In this Milan, however, the strength is the collective. Let me explain: there is no Kakà or a Shevchenko, players that kids go crazy for to get their name on the shirt. Apart from Ibra, of course.
“The group is the winning idea. And there in the middle, I watch with interest the exponential growth of Tonali: he scored a brace and showed an important personality,” he stated.
Milan will face Atalanta in their next game, scheduled for 18:00 CEST on Sunday, and then they will take on Sassuolo away from home in the last round. That clash will most likely also be played on a Sunday with a 15:00 kick-off time.
The Rossoneri are surely flying high after their win last night, which proved that they are indeed capable of scoring goals, but they need to remain focused until the end. Leao, of course, will be a crucial player for them.
Well, let’s just focus. It wasn’t a game against Liverpool or even Inter. It was Verona. A good team but still not one of the top level.
It is too early to call someone a star or whatever.
It was an important and brilliant effort and we appreciate it, but it worth nothing if we don’t reach out the scudetto.
Come on, ❤️🖤Devils!
