Despite his recent performances, Alessio Romagnoli’s spot in the starting eleven seemed safe as multiple outlets reported that he would start against Roma tomorrow. However, that isn’t the case at all.
The captain has been heavily criticised for his performances in the last few weeks and after the mistake on Thursday, against Red Star Belgrade, Stefano Pioli has made up his mind: Fikayo Tomori will play instead.
According to Peppe Di Stefano of Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, the Chelsea loanee will start alongside Simon Kjaer in the heart of the defence tomorrow. Something that Milan fans will appreciate, given the Englishman’s impressive start.
It’s about time, some will say, as Romagnoli hasn’t lived up to expectations at all. At the same time, it was getting harder and harder to keep Tomori on the bench. Gigio Donnarumma will be the captain tomorrow.

Best news I have heard this season!
Agreed!
Nicky
Romo has been dropped, but is Pioli job safe?
Is Pioli the man to steer Milan through Champions League?
I don’t think so !
The german manager would have been the man many may disagree
Pioli might not be the man for Champion League, but so far I think he has done a great job with the players at his disposal. I would not mind seeing Ancelotti or Ragnick at Milan next season, even though Ragnick won`t come to Milan unless there is a broken squad to fix. I don`t believe this is a broken squad for the moment though. I was actually cheering for Ragnick when the news came out
Pioli had done a very good job in Milan and should be appreciated not criticed, it is a time of difficulty and it will surely come to an end, juve,Napoli and Roma are facing same thing Milan Willa surely win this league.
Nice, tomori needs it.
I love that
