Calabria addresses ‘nonsense’ rumours and previews clash against ‘annoying’ Torino

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the clash between AC Milan and Torino this evening, scheduled for 20:45 CET, captain Dabvide Calabria spoke about the Rossoneri’s peculiar situation. However, he will have to cheer on from the bench tonight.

The right-back has struggled recently and that, in addition to fatigue, is one of the reasons behind Stefano Pioli’s decision to bench him. Alexis Saelemaekers will be the one on the right flank after a good appearance off the bench in the derby.

Speaking to MilanTV, as cited by MilanNews, Calabria responded to some of the recent rumours about supposed internal disagreements within the team, which he branded as ‘nonsense’. He assured that they are united to get back to winning ways.

On the situation…

“Sometimes, I’m amazed by the imagination of certain human beings. I wanted to put an end to this unpleasant situation and this nonsense about the locker room, especially because we are all united and focused on tonight’s match.”

What must be done to win?

“We have to go back to being convinced of our means. Milan always need to win and we must have the strength to do it tonight.”

What team is Torino?

“We know them. They are very annoying. There will be many duels and whoever has the strength to fight the most will win the match.”

On Ibra…

“He’s always been a point of reference for us, having him on the pitch makes the difference. He’s a champion and can help us at any time.”

Milan need the confidence boost that a win would give them as they will face Tottenham in the first leg of the UCL round of 16 next week. It’s a very important game and with it being a 3-4-3 tonight, the fans are hoping to see some change.
