AC Milan captain Davide Calabria has provided a response to some of the ‘falsehoods’ that have been circulating regarding the squad.
Milan are on a dire run of form at the moment having won just one of eight games to begin the new year and several players have come under fire for their performances with Calabria among them.
This terrible start to the year has given rise to some speculation surrounding the harmony in the dressing room – or lack thereof – as well as rumours of disagreements between Stefano Pioli and some players, all of which seems to be commonplace now in the world of football media when things are not going well.
Calabria felt the need to speak out on behalf of the squad and posted a message on his Instagram story to address some of the stories aimed at the team.
“Winning or losing, like criticism, is part of this world. We accept it and we are the first to be unhappy and want to change things. What we do not accept in an absolute manner are the innumerable falsehoods that have been following one another for a few days and involving my companions and myself,” he said.
“Ours is a fantastic group, healthy and made up above all of men who love each other, with great moral values, respect and mutual esteem. We continue to stay focused on our work with the head in the field and enough with these absurd inferences.”

Well as captain! You should demonstrate leadership not by talking but by action on the field of play. Seeing that you have been substituted many times owing to dire and poor performance, you should be the first to improve and put in extra works – of course there are times a player experienced poor patches of form yet putting in work and been discipline on the pitch should be the norm
