Fabio Capello believes that it will be ‘difficult’ for Theo Hernandez to play at San Siro in the future after his red card cost AC Milan their place in the Champions League.
Milan’s European journey came to an end in rather embarrassing fashion as they drew 1-1 with Feyenoord at San Siro, which meant that they lost 2-1 on aggregate.
When we say ’embarrassing’ it is not at all a dig at the opposition, who admittedly arrived with a long injury list and a caretaker manager in charge, but rather how the game unfolded.
Milan took the lead after just 36 seconds as Santiago Gimenez netted from close range, but then Theo’s red card changed the game completely. Julian Carranza came off the bench to equalise and send the Dutch side through.
Capello was covering the game as a pundit for Sky and after the full-time whistle he offered his thoughts on the madness that he had just seen from Theo, with MilanNews relaying his comments.
“First half: too many missed opportunities. When you make a mistake, there is the unexpected. And the unexpected was Theo. He got booked for something childish, a push. And then he did something that a strict, fair referee considered simulation,” he said.
“After the red, something completely different happened: they [Feyenoord] started to have courage and equalised. And then the ball never goes in by itself: the defender must look at the man, not the ball.
“Now it will be difficult for him to play at San Siro. Because his red card was very serious. Milan were dominating, then the game changed. When you do something stupid, your teammates aren’t happy, just like the fans aren’t happy and the coach isn’t happy.
“He’s so passive in many games. At Milan, the left side was something more, this year it wasn’t there. I don’t understand why he doesn’t play with that ease and naturalness.”
This incident also highlighted Theo Hernandez’s total negligence, lack of responsibility, and disrespect towards AC Milan, the club’s jersey, and the fans. His actions were not just a momentary lapse in judgment but a failure to uphold the values and expectations that come with representing a historic club like Milan. By diving recklessly while already on a yellow card, he showed a blatant disregard for the team’s collective effort and the fans’ unwavering support, especially in such a pivotal Champions League match. His red card not only cost Milan their European campaign but also betrayed a lack of accountability and professionalism. For a player entrusted with such a key role, this behavior was a stark reminder of how individual irresponsibility can tarnish the legacy of the club and disappoint those who hold it dear.
You are so right, throughout his milan career, he has behaved petulantly, arrogantly, selfishly and stupidly, yesterday was the crowning glory.
He plays only for himself, once he crosses the halfway line into the opposition half, becomes oppsessed with scoring, he prefers to waste the ball rather than pass for a better option, even though it’s highly likely for him to score.
Getting rid of him is the best thing, what the club needs to do is sit him down with his agents, agree to a 2 year extension with the same salary, so we get good money for him, with the total and even written agreement he will be sold in June…and he should continue to play, so that his value doesn’t drop.
Theo is an idiot..,
This is quite a exaggeration. He might be a selfish guy, but playing for himself isn’t it. Those times he had his runs into the opposition half and tried to finish off himself, he has often scored some bangers. But i see him often pass the ball, just last season he had 11 assists. 5,9,7,3 assists the seasons before.
The guy has to find it out mentally
ChatGPT goes hard on this.
Too hard lol
Where did you plagiarize this from …
Seems Ai
I was reading this and it sounded good but odd at the same time. Couldn’t put my finger on it but the Ted mentioned ChatGPT and I was like Bingo!
Hahaha 100%
It’s been happening all season long, but was highlighted yesterday by the bigger scale of the event. He is a completel imbecile who desperately wants to leave and probably does some this stuff on purpose. Even though I despise every single thing about RedBird, I fail to see how this sort of “protest” against them proves helpful for anyone involved. He should’ve just asked for a transfer after Maldini was fired. He would have remained a fan favorite. But then again, it’s what a real man would do, not a spoiled, greedy child with pink hair.
He wasn’t much better last season… like Leao Tomori Maignan he hasn’t developed or even sustained the level from the scudetto season – it’s just been a regression…
True, but he wasn’t the nightmare he is today both on and off the pitch. Maybe some last remaining spark from the work with Pioli kept him motivated enough. Fonseca’s arrival, coupled with the club not wanting to renew under his ridiculous demand and apparently some weird personal issues as well, has turned him into the snake of the locker room. And sadly, Rafa stays in his corner.
100% Downward slope from the Scudetto season. And the issue is that all these flaws were always there. He dives often, falls down at slightest tough, has disciplinary issues and cards often. Has been dismissed on more than one occasion. BUT while he was scoring and combining with Leao well we all closed our eyes on it… until now …
Since Redbird took Milan over, most players are down. Evident. They took over a Scudetto winning team.
It’s cause they did not bring in a next level coach and honestly it was Conte, I wanted Conceicao from jump but I realise now what this team needed was actually Conte
Yes, the coach so brilliant, Napoli’s best 2 players have left.
And they are top – funny how getting rid of your ‘best’ players can improve the team..
Not really, Reijnders has become the best player at the club along with Pulisic, Thiaw after his injury struck season looks better than he ever has, Gabbia is a much better player as well. The rapper and the pink haired fool are egotistical. We’re sitting with Balotelli and Cassano 2.0 here. A lazy talent that doesn’t want to fulfill his potential, and an idiot.
Did you miss the scudetto defence under Elliot?
Tell him to bench Felix.
Unfortunately Theo is the scape goat. But frankly speaking the whole thing is on this management. Theo deserves to have been benched benched when he started this drama but because they didn’t buy a backup, they kept on over using Theo until it gets to a sad end like this. So sad.
100% – should have been nipped in the bud
THEO IS NO SCAPE GOAT……. HE JUST SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!
