Tuttosport: Captain’s armband explained as Milan adopt new strategy for Kessie’s renewal

By Isak Möller -

Franck Kessie’s contract will expire at the end of the season and AC Milan want to renew it before it’s too late. However, they have not reached the desired result yet, despite talking with the midfielder’s agent for a long time.

According to Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, the Rossoneri management is working hard on convincing the player. In fact, they have adopted a new strategy to get Kessie to stay, making him feel very important at the club.

The captain’s armband that he received in the clash against Fiorentina, therefore, was well-thought over by Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara. In addition to making the Ivorian feel important, Milan wanted to make clear they still respect the player.

Of course, as the newspaper continues, Milan are still a bit worried and are looking around on the market. Something has changed, though, that is very clear and it remains to be seen if it’s enough for Kessie to change his mind about the renewal.
