Tuttosport: Cardinale sets €500m-a-year target as part of Milan’s brand growth

By Oliver Fisher -

Gerry Cardinale has big ambitions for AC Milan, one of which is to massively increase the revenue that the club generates to the half a billion per year mark.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Cardinale is already at work and knows what he wants to do to achieve growth at his new club. Between Milan and New York he works and will continue to work in continuous synergy with those in Italy, so that the Milan brand can expand more and more.

In this sense, the partnership with the New York Yankees is a sign of things to come, because RedBird want to ensure that the name of AC Milan can take root more than it already does around the world, especially in the USA and also in the Middle East. It is no coincidence that the winter retreat will be held in Dubai.

At Casa Milan, the “Studios” were created so that there is an easier and more organic production of multimedia content. Furthermore, the renewal of the agreement with Emirates until 2027 seems ever closer and it cannot be excluded that this will be announced while Milan are actually in the Emirates.

Ultimately, the goal is to increase the club’s revenues from the current €300m per year to the €500m mark, thus bridging the gap with Europe’s elite.

    1. They are spending wisely and not stupidly. Eventually Milan will be able to spend more but this is the way to go. We don’t want to end up like United who spend millions of dollars just for them to flop and sell them back to the market for peanuts. It doesn’t help that we can’t get our own stadium either. At the end of the day football is also a business.
