CF: Eight Serie A clubs against resumption of current season – Milan’s stance

By Isak Möller -

Due to the Coronavirus emergency, the leaders of Italian football are working hard to find a solution for the remainder of the season. However, as the situation changes every day, this isn’t exactly easy.

According to a report from Calcio E Finanza, eight clubs are against resuming the season, making it even more difficult for Lega Serie A and the FIGC. These clubs are Parma, Spal, Brescia, Turin, Sampdoria, Udinese, Bologna and Fiorentina.

AC Milan, on the other hand, are willing to resume the season if the conditions are right, with regards to health and safety. In an interview with ANSA just a few days ago, the Rossoneri’s president Paolo Scaroni confirmed this.

Of course, it will all come down to the Coronavirus in the end. Italy have been in quarantine since March 9 and it remains to be seen how long it will last. The best-case scenario would be to resume the season in late May.
