Despite all of the reports in recent weeks, the chances of Mario Gila joining AC Milan in the summer window are now low.
One of the names that Milan have been repeatedly linked with in view of the upcoming mercato is Gila. Sources have spoken of a verbal agreement over personal terms, yet the competition and having to deal with Claudio Lotito makes things tough.

The defender’s agent even gave an interview earlier in the month in which he strongly hinted that his client would be open to joining Milan and working with Allegri. The uncertainty about the Rossoneri at management level since probably hasn’t helped things.
Gila now not on the cards
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the chances of Gila playing for Milan starting from July are slim. Milan have tried and made moves, especially with Igli Tare, who brought Gila to Lazio and values him as much or more than before.
However, the Spaniard has several offers – including Napoli, Inter and Juventus in Italy – and must get Lazio’s approval. His contract expires in a year, and Lazio will have to pay Real Madrid 50% of the proceeds.
Assuming a €25m transfer, Lotito would have €12.5m left in his coffers. Is that enough to convince him? It seems not, and from what La Gazzetta infer, there isn’t much appetite from the Rossoneri to push things further.

I don’t see why. If you’re Lazio and you only get 50% but you have 100% of the player and he’s an important part of your team, why sell? Unless your scouts confidently have a replacement lined up already, if you think he might be the difference between qualifying for Europe or not doing, you may as well hold onto him.
It’s just Gila was practically sealed and now we read this crap. Maybe our recent struggle had something to do with it, I wouldn’t be surprised. Not that I’m particularly sad because of this failure, it’s just that it’s irritating to me. By the way, he has one more year with Lazio, if they refuse to sell him this summer even if we know that they have only 50% of (the) economic rights, they will get nothing in 12 months and it is well known that that club lives off (of) transfers…
Then just stop reading it if you are irretated by it. Gila was almost sealed only because media (or Moreto) said so, but there is no such legal term as ‘almost sealed’ …
Now the Gila signing is in exactly the same state as it was any time before, but media wrote it wont happen, … and you get irratated by it.
That is why I write the comments under Moretos posts, because non of the thing that they tell is true. Gila was never ‘almost sealed’, and gila was never ‘far’ from signing us. Gila just was, and thats the only correct statement here. The only problem with it is, that based on these manipulations with emotions by the fake news, people are criticising management, coaches, players and so on, and at the same time, non of it is true 😀 😀 😀 …. nahh, poor society

We had enough cover in defence solely due to the fact there weren’t many injuries so we had luck in that regard.
