The AIA have designated the officiating crews for the next round of Serie A games, and there is some surprise that Daniele Chiffi will referee AC Milan versus Juventus.

Milan will return to the field after the international break on Saturday at 18:00 against Juventus in the 13th round of Serie A. During the morning. As Radio Rossonera report, the AIA announced the names of the referees.

Chiffi will lead, assisted by Peretti and Baccini and the fourth official Zufferli. The VAR chief will be Mazzoleni and the AVAR will be Paterna. Milan actually have a record of nine wins, one draw and one defeat in 11 previous games the Padua-born referee has taken charge of.

However, the most recent precedent concerns the match between Milan and Udinese on October 19th, won by the Rossoneri 1-0 with two goals disallowed for the Friulians for very marginal (albeit correct) offside calls.

In that game there was a lot of controversy after the red card shown to Tijjani Reijnders in the 29th minute of the first half, after the very light (if any) contact with Lovric in what was deemed to be a last-man challenge.

In addition to this, there was a stamp from Toure on Chukwueze that was not picked up, while Pavlovic’s challenge on Kabasele in the penalty area in the second half was judged not to be a foul by the referee too. The brandishing of cards was debatable also, meaning it was a ‘disaster’ overall.

  1. “We lost because the ref denied us a clear goal and gave them a non-existent penalty.”
“Yes but we should’ve won anyway.”
