CM: AC Milan withdrew €57m offer for Correa because of Leao

By Isak Möller -

After the closing of the Rafael Leao deal, made official today, AC Milan have returned to negotiate with Atletico Madrid for Correa, as reported by Calciomercato.com.

This afternoon, the player’s agent arrived at Casa Milan for a meeting with the Rossoneri management. The topic of discussion, of course, was Angel Correa, for whom Milan had reached an agreement in recent weeks.

Then, the negotiations slowed down, as a result of the clubs failure to agree on the bonuses in the deal. In addition to that, Andre Silva’s move to Monaco broke down at the last minute, which made things difficult.

Before the San Siro side closed a deal for Leao, they had reached an agreement with Atletico on the basis of €40m, €10m in easily accessible bonuses as well as an additional €7m in complicated bonuses (€57m in total).

The negotiations are once again back up and running, but the outcome remains unknown, even though Correa is keen on joining the club after rejecting a proposal from Monaco.
