CM: Calhanoglu’s exit increasingly likely as playmaker shows no signs of lowering demands

By Oliver Fisher -

It seems as though the possibility of Hakan Calhanoglu leaving on a free transfer is increasing by the day, according to a report.

Sky reporter Manuele Baiocchini (via PianetaMilan) stated yesterday that the management have no intention of raising their offer to Calhanoglu, and for this reason the situation now seems compromised. A separation now seems a more than concrete hypothesis.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, the question relating to the renewal of the contract of Calhanoglu continues to take up a large chunk of the discussion at Casa Milan. The 27-year-old attacking midfielder showed no signs of accepting the latest offer of almost €4m net per season presented by Milan.

With less than 80 days until the contract of the former Bayer Leverkusen man expires it seems like the situation is pointing more and more towards his exit at the end of the season, which could mean that Maldini and Massara are beginning to consider replacements.

  1. Hakan is doing that because of Donadollar…Hakan is just an average player who wants significant pay rise.. We have to look elsewhere if he is not willing to sign..

  2. Not a surprise. I suspect if this happens, a formation change is on the table. Either a 3-5-2 or a 4-3-3, which allows whomever the manager is to get Bennacer, Kessie and Tonali on the pitch at the same time.

I see some major moves as necessary if the club is going to continue to grow and genuinely compete. It’s less about big name purchases and more about building squad balance. For example, we are three deep on the left and the right is a black hole with sub replacement-level play.

  3. I hope he doesn’t sign at the end. He played at high level only for some months. All the other time in milan he is below average as most of players of milan ‘s squad. We cant be competitive for scudetto ,coppa italia and cl (if we qualify)with players like kessie calhanoglu calabria salemakers kajer leao krunic castillejo. Donnaruma bennacer theo and rebic are top players and need more time playing together at left flank. Tomori still too early to judge but has very good characteristics. I will judge tonali very hard next year. All say that kessie is top player…what he offers except running? I want milikovic-savic at midfield with bennacer. Calabria is good for cagliari but for milan. Romagnoli needs partner with balls. Gabbia needs time to other team.Kajer is good for back up he is very slow and cant perform in higher level. Leao needs a change….maybe needs to be loaned…maybe he is next Balotelli. Talent but no brain. I dont want to spend word for castillejo krunic and salemakers…go play with calabria in serie b. Hauge has good characteristics but needs time. Time that maybe he will never find in Milan. Ibra…just a phrase for this man…can you become 25 again please? Dalot meite and diaz. Please go to hell
And of course pioli proves that he is below average and needs to be sacked asap
