CM: Camarda sent home early from Italy U19 duty due to injury – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

Some rather worrying news has emerged from the Italian U19 national team camp as Francesco Camarda has been sent home early with a muscle issue.

As Calciomercato.com report, Italy U19s will return to the field from today until September 10th for an international friendly tournament in Croatia, where they will challenge their peers from England and Germany, as well as the hosts Croatia.

Over the past few days, 22 players have been called up by coach Alberto Bollini, all born in 2006 with the exception of 2007-born Mattia Liberali, Mattia Mosconi, Federico Nardin, Emanuele Sala and 2008-born Francesco Camarda.

An official communication has arrived from the FIGC which states that Camarda has been excluded from the games against England at the Nedelišće Stadium in Čakovec, against the Germans at the Podravina Stadium in Ludbreg and against Croatia, again in Čakovec.

Roma defender Filippo Reale has come in to take his place, because during the match against Carpi on Sunday – after scoring his first goal of the season from a penalty – the striker experienced a small muscle problem that forced him to leave.

In the next few days, the 16-year-old will be monitored by the staff to understand his exact condition, with the hope that he can play again once the games resume.
