CM: Colombo gets ready for Shamrock Rovers game as Milan sweat over Ibrahimovic

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could hand Lorenzo Colombo his first competitive start for the club on Thursday night against Shamrock Rovers, a report claims.

With just three days left until the Rossoneri travel to Dublin for their second round Europa League qualifier, there are still doubts about whether Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be fit enough to play.

As Calciomercato.com notes, the Swede missed the last two friendly matches against Vicenza and Brescia due to a bruised leg, and head coach Stefano Pioli does not want to take the slightest risk especially with the Serie A opener being on Monday 21st against Bologna.

The latest feelings from Milanello are optimistic regarding Ibrahimovic’s availability for the game against Shamrock, one that Ante Rebic will miss due to disqualification.

Should Ibra continue to recover alone today and tomorrow, then 18-year-old centre-forward Lorenzo Colombo could step into his place, one of two top scorers in the preseason with three goals in three games.
