CM: Contacts continue between Rangnick and Gazidis – the German seeks two assurances

By Oliver Fisher -

Ivan Gazidis and Ralf Rangnick are continuing their discussions in hopes of reaching an agreement, according to a report.

There has been a storm brewing at Milan ever since Zvonimir Boban revealed in an interview that Gazidis had an agreement with Rangnick since December, a statement which ultimately got him sacked.

However, it appears that such an agreement does not yet exist – and as per a report on MilanLive (citing Calciomercato.com) there is no pre-contract signed and no penalties for failure to make the relationship happen.

Meanwhile though, contacts between Gazidis and Rangnick continue. There are important aspects to discuss before a signature is put down, such as the role that the Head of Sport and Development of Soccer for Red Bull would have.

He wants full powers in the technical area and wants to control scouting and the market and also wants reassurance from Gazidis and Elliott regarding the budget available, but the Coronavirus emergency has created economic problems and made planning next season more complicated.

In any case, the leaders of Milan aim to convince the German by giving him all the necessary guarantees.
