CM: De Ketelaere, Atalanta and Milan all smiling – €23m switch moves closer

By Oliver Fisher -

After a first season with AC Milan that did not go at all to plan, Charles De Ketelaere seems to have found the ideal place to show everyone what he is capable of.

Calciomercato.com have provided an update on De Ketelaere’s situation, remarking that he has ‘found his smile again’ and that Atalanta seems to be his ‘happy place’. The Bergamo club are enjoying a talented, quality player who struggled to express himself at Milan.

During Atalanta’s 5-0 win yesterday at Frosinone his name was on the scoresheet as the Belgian bagged his seventh goal of the season (with five assists also to his name), a stark contrast to his zero goals and one assist with the Rossoneri.

Gian Piero Gasperini deploys him mostly as an attacking midfielder and when needed also places him in attack with two men behind for support. He creates, finishes and links up well with his team-mates – things Milan thought they were getting when they signed him.

The ‘Charles of Brugge’ seems to be back, the one who enchanted Paolo Maldini enough to chase him for almost an entire summer before investing €35m to bring him to Milan.

In the summer it was Atalanta who believed in him, signing him on loan for €3m with an option to buy set at €23m plus some bonuses too. The Nerazzurri are satisfied with CDK’s performances, and at present a permanent move there is more likely than unlikely.

  1. Now that’s a serious coach. I have said this several times here, Milan should try to get Gasperini.
He has a defined style of play.

  2. Sell ! Just sell !

Mercato is full with opportunity, so selling is crucial.

When we sell Origi and Ballo Toure, general happiness will be reached.

  3. He only good with coach that use formation 2 striker . Only few coach now use 2 striker formation, mostly use winger. This is best choice for all parties atalanta,AC Milan and CDK
